The village Erdőbénye is located 20 km from the town of Tokaj in Northern Hungary.
It lies in a valley surrounded by mountains and vineyards, in the middle of the famous wine-region 'Tokaj-Hegyalja', in Borsod-Abauj-Zemplen County.
The village is one of the centres for wine-production in this region. There are more cellars in the village, where the regional wines can be tasted. As the well-known old saying tells us: "Good wine, like Tokaj Aszu, needs a good wine-cask too…", which is why the profession of cooper has a long tradition in this region. The coopers of Erdőbénye are the only ones in the world who have preserved the tradition of the dance of the coopers, which has been handed down from father to son, and which they perform every summer at the "Festival of Coopers."
This region attracts not only "lovers of wine", but also "lovers of nature". Because of clear air and low pollution, this region is a climatic health resort and is a centre for taking excursions. A valley called 'Aranyosi-volgy' in the nature conservation area near the village is a paradise for tourists and bikers.
In the towns of Boldogkovaralja, Sarospatak, Szerencs, Fuzer, Regec, castles and castle ruins stand as testament to the rich history of the area. The two rivers, Tisza and Bodrog meet here. River Bodrog is home to different kinds of water-sports. Hunting and adventurous pursuits happen in the forests of Zemplén Mountains.
Concerts of the Zemplen Cultural Festival, 'Zemplen Muveszeti Napok', are held in the Calvinist Church of Erdőbénye.

The Hotel Magita is located in one of the oldest township of the region Tokaj-Hegyalja, Erdo"bénye and opened up in 2002. The thousand year old past, the gentle landscape, the crystal clear air give a special atmosphere to the tiny village. Our hotel is on the main square of this tiny village and represents a special combination of the past and the present. Behind the rustic façade there is a building satisfying all demands and giving familiar cosiness. We have created ideal conditions to accommodate 56 guests who can recreate and relax here.

     TV set, HiFi equipment and projector screen.

  For sport fans are available: outdoor bubble-bath swimming pool, a
     Finish sauna, a Jacuzzi, a bowling alley and an open-air chess field;
     furthermore there is possibility to use nearby tennis and basketball
     courts.

  For those who prefer touring either by hiking or cycling well-known
     excursion routes (blue-tour track marked with red-band signal) of
     the nature reservation area are available in the wildly romantic
     Zemplén region.

  During the cold season lovers of winter sports may test their skills on
     the neighbouring ski-tracks, moreover the advance racers even can
     use the ones on Magas Hill in Sátoraljaújhely. This is the site of the
     longest chair lift in Hungary, which carries the holidaymakers both to
     the lookout tower and the ski-track of Magas Hill.

  Horse riding is possible either in Betyár horse farm of Sárospatak or
     in the Tamarix riding court of Vilyvitány while who is interested in
     water sports is welcome in Tokaj alongshore of the river Tisza for
     excursions, angling and pleasure-boating.
