The name matyó appeared for the first time at the beginning of the XIX century. The matyós are the habitants of Mezőkövesd, Tard and Szentistván.
Nowadays they don't wear their traditional folk dresses, only in the communities that still keep the traditions. The matyó embroidery is also very famous, the most characteristic element is the matyó rose, it has various forms. The house of Bori Kisjankó, the most famous designer of folk these special elements, is one of the most important tourist attractions of the town.
The Matyó Museum situated in the heart of the town center and this half century old museum presents the Matyó life, holidays and weekdays, the development of embroidery in a permanent exhibition. Mezőkövesd results interesting and attractive for tourists not only because of its folk art. The Zsóry Spa is one of the best known thermal baths of Hungary. The thermal bath received its name after Lajos Zsóry, the estate started looking for oil on his fields in 1939 but what they found were thermal springs. The curing powers of the waters were discovered in 1968. The 72 degrees hot waters have the highest content of sulphur in Hungary and they cura reumatism, arthritis, gynaecological diseases and are good for aftercares of orthopaedic operations.

The Boglarka Pension is situated between Budapest and Miskolc, along the main route, in the Zsóry Bath area.
Our pension can be found 3 kilometers far from Mezőkövesd, which is the centre of the famous "matyó" embroidery, in the so-called Zsóry Spa Region, well-known all over Europe due to its curative effect.
There are 12 double rooms and a triple room in the pension, all of them has its own air-conditional, bathroom, television and refrigerator.
